Taking Care of Your Body

The human body is an incredible example of God’s design for life! What a blessing that he so intricately and perfectly made our bodies with systems and organs that work together to sustain our lives. All he asks is for us to take care of them. Our bodies are not our own, we were bought by the blood of Jesus and we should honor him with our bodies. Romans 12:1 tells us to present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God because it is our spiritual service of worship. Have you ever though about it like that? That what you do with your body, and taking care of it is a form of worship. When someone gifts you something you should take care of it, and since our bodies are a gift from God we should take care of them. Fueling ourselves with nutrients, moving our bodies, training our minds, and hygiene are all things we should be doing to show God appreciation for our bodies. He has provided us with the recourses to do all these things but it can be harder than it seems. This is because our flesh is weak and craves things that aren’t good for us. If you struggle with this, you’re not alone. It’s easy to fall into laziness and turn to things that aren’t good for you, but I encourage you to pray and ask God for the motivation to start and maintain a healthy lifestyle. This DOES NOT mean you can’t enjoy lazy days and junk food from time to time. It’s just about prioritizing your health. Not only will you be honoring God, you’ll also look and feel great. God wants us to be the best versions of ourselves spiritually and physically. When you take care of yourself you feel energized and happy. Thank you God for our amazing bodies!

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 “Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with you bodies.”
